Ok today a friend dropped off their little gecko for me to take care of for 2 weeks while they are away on vacation. I was informed that he has lost weight and doesn't have much of a fat reserve in his tail and I noticed after they left he can't seem to go to the bathroom. I can see him trying to go, but nothing happens. I called my herp vet and asked for some advice...She suggested that I continue warm soaks (which I had already done 2 in an hour) offer some greens and if he doesn't eat of poo by friday to call her and she will see him. Please keep in mind that I was told by his owners that "if he is sick and is gonna die...let him die. We don't have money to take him to the vet" Oh BTW he was on sand with only a uth for heat...no heat light..URRRGH! I took out the sand and replaced it with newspaper with a layer of papertowel on top and gave him a heat light. His little vent area look a brownish color all around the opening and like I said he can't go to the bathroom. Any advise on what I can do for him between now and friday? ...he will seen by the vet friday afternoon if he doesn't eat or poo by fri am. He is sooo darn cute and I just wanna help him feel better
