Thank you so much! That was very useful! I think I’m going to take the top off, get a mesh lid, get a dome light and zip tie the UVB bulbs. I just gave him some baby food, and water and he’s looking much better
Anytime, glad I could help! There are some great experienced keepers on here (more so than I) and a vet tech too! We all love beardies here and feel free to ask anything anytime!

Its hard to tell from a pic and Im not really an expert, but, please, dont let him sit and soak in his water dish. Its really not the best for him. Rather than a water dish, you can use an eyedropper or your finger to drip water onto the tip of his nose and see if he will drink that way. Babies can poop in their water dish, and if he ingests it, he can get a parasite called coccidia. Their scales need to be dry too. The best experts here on hatchling and baby care are:
@AHBD
@xp29
@Drache 613
The last one is our vet tech...she comes on late at night usually but she is very responsive to posts!

Prob not a good idea to let him soak, if you dont mind the advice. To put it in perspective, my dragon has had 2 soaks since Ive had him,(a year and some months), both as an adult dragon, both only when he hadnt pooped in more than 2 weeks. Its really not necessary to soak them in most cases. They cant hydrate that way unless they drink the water and it can be dangerous when they stick their heads under. The eyedroppers work much better, or you can give a small hornworm for hydration here and there.

Thank you so much! I love the advice because the internet has steered me in many wrong directions it seems

Im flagging @xp29. He is great with baby dragons!
@Sue E. has given you great advice.
Pleaee don't do an iodine soak. It serves no purpose and if your hatchling drank it, it might cause problems.
As mentioned beardies need long tube uvb, those screw in bulbs are no good for them. Uvb is absolutely critical for them, so is basking temperature. Babies need 105 to 110 for basking.
Try offering other type bugs also. They can have some mealworms but variety is the key. I feed my hatchings, baby dubias, small crickets, black soldier fly larvae, small hornworms (these grow crazy fast, keep them cool to slow their growth, don't refrigerate) small silkworms and meal worms. Not all at once, I mix it up. Bugs that move attract their attention also.
They have to DRINK water to be hydrated. Soaking does not hydrate them unless they drink in the soak. Eyedroppers (plastic only, never glass) or painters pipettes are great for giving water. GO SLOW DO NOT FORCE WATER it's easy to aspirate them if you try to force it. Just slowly drip it on their nose. Most will start lapping at it once they realize what it is.
I do not recommend taking hatchlings to the vet unless your are darned certain something is wrong. Vet WAY to often prescribe antibiotics "just in case" they are much to harsh for hatchlings.

Okay thank you so incredibly much! I’m just concerned at this point with the laying down and seeming like he is sleeping. Also when I pick him up he’s not moving f and not jumping off my hand when being placed back down. I’m just not sure if he’s comfortable now, sick or lazy

Okay, I’m going to do a iodion soak as well. Do you think that’s okay. Also should I bring him to the vet? Sorry very anxious beardie mom lol
No iodine soak, someone pulled that out of the air. Iodine would be for a little cut/wound as a soaking solution to kill germs. I'm going to read the rest of your post now.

Starting Monday my baby dragon has been acting very strange. He started out just being tired and laying down and I though he was dehydrated. So I gave him some water and he perked up. He was fine Tuesday. Then I come home Wednesday night and he’s very tired and not moving much. I checked the lights and humidity and all was correct. Cooler side was 80. Hotter side was 90 and basking area was 105. With my tank being 78 gallons. I also have two UVB 10.0 bulbs in the tank. He last ate Tuesday. Then Thursday morning comes and he’s still not moving much. He went to eat a meal worm this morning and then decided not to. I’m not sure where to go from here. I saw a video online explaining that he could have a parasite issue and to give him some Pedialyte, iodine soak and some baby food. I did get him from PetSmart 5 weeks ago on Sunday and he was fine until Monday. I would say he’s about 2 months old.
I agree with the advice given so far. And your baby is adorable [ as they all are ! ] So your enclosure is beautiful but it may really be best to put him in a " hospital " set up while he's not doing well . Best not to feed any mealworms now either. Get a long tube bulb uvb that others have recommended to go across the top an a heat bulb. Give him just minimal decor so he gets enough uvb exposure. Something like this is good to use for a short time until baby is doing better.

I do soak Atticus but that’s because he likes to poop on his branch and run through the poop (silly little dragon). Now he also doesn’t drink from a dropper or a bowl I simply drip water off my fingers and he loves it and he trust me at this point to not bite me etc. it took work though. I started by just when he was very little with slow and steady handling because he learned I was not going to hurt him quickly by doing this. Also I would start offering greens now that helped my boy a lot.

The finger trick for dripping water slowly on the tip of their nose that OctoberSky37 mentioned is a great trick!
