Starting Monday my baby dragon has been acting very strange. He started out just being tired and laying down and I though he was dehydrated. So I gave him some water and he perked up. He was fine Tuesday. Then I come home Wednesday night and he’s very tired and not moving much. I checked the lights and humidity and all was correct. Cooler side was 80. Hotter side was 90 and basking area was 105. With my tank being 78 gallons. I also have two UVB 10.0 bulbs in the tank. He last ate Tuesday. Then Thursday morning comes and he’s still not moving much. He went to eat a meal worm this morning and then decided not to. I’m not sure where to go from here. I saw a video online explaining that he could have a parasite issue and to give him some Pedialyte, iodine soak and some baby food. I did get him from PetSmart 5 weeks ago on Sunday and he was fine until Monday. I would say he’s about 2 months old.

meal worms should not be fed as a staple and should be fed sparingly mostly offered as a treat. try crickets,Dubia roaches, bsfl or silkworms as a staple food. they are high in fat and can make them difficult to digest. how often does he poop?

ok that's good, what is your humidity in the tank, It should be around 30%
Last night when I checked it was at 21. I went and got humidity fog thing and it went up to 33%. Should I force feed some baby food and force feed pedialyt

you can try baby food but don't try Pedialyte because it is high in sugar and not recommended for baby bearded dragons. if it gets worse you can try it.

Okay, I’m going to do a iodion soak as well. Do you think that’s okay. Also should I bring him to the vet? Sorry very anxious beardie mom lol

When you say 2 10.0 bulbs, do you mean the long tube uvb? The other type of bulbs are not good enough and will cause health issues..they provide a very concentrated uvb over a VERY short distance and range and the uvb drops off drastically outside that range. In addition, they can cause eye issues. Adding an extra small bulb will not help. Please replace any bulbs like that as soon as possible with a long tube fixture. The ones we recommend are an Arcadia 12% t5 (long tube style) or this one (zoomed reptisun t5 10.0 high output) Pictured are the tube bulb (pic 1) and the hood (pic 2) The Arcadia will also fit in the zoomed hood. You can set your lights up similar to this, as an example (pic 3 and 4), with the uvb under the screen, while the bright white basking bulb can fit on top of OR under the screen (I have my basking bulb in a deep dome on the top):
You dont have to angle your uvb like that but it should cover about 1/2 to 2/3 of your tank. Thus, for a 4x2x2 (120 gallon)enclosure, your uvb should be a 24" or 39" long fixture, with a 22" or 36" bulb. That gives your dragon a spot to escape the uvb if he/she wants. The uvb is really critical to their health.
Hope that helps!

Thank you so much! My UVB bulbs are the ones on the left and one in the middle. Then the one on the right is a basking light. My tank comes where the lights can be put in automatically in 3 spots. Should i remove the top and get a mesh lid and then the dome lights? Also my light light is 100 W for the basking. Now I’m just nervous. Does that sound correct?

Its okay, everyone is new to this once! Your basking bulb should be whatever wattage lets you get good basking temps (measure the spot with a digital probe thermometer). I think you mentioned your basking temps earlier. Just make sure the basking bulb is a bright white one, no colored bulbs, not even yellow. Remove all the other bulbs...you just need the basking bulb and the uvb tube I sent a pic of ( or the Arcadia 12% tube). You can either drill holes in your existing tank top to mount the uvb, or get a mesh top, whichever you prefer. If your predrilled holes work with a tube fixture, go for it. You are absolutely fine to keep your basking bulb in the tank if its already there. The uvb hood doesnt come with mounting hardware so you can use heat resistant zip ties or picture wire or something like that to hold your uvb in place under the screen. If you need more help with the technical part of getting the tube in there, this guy can help with that.

Thank you so much! That was very useful! I think I’m going to take the top off, get a mesh lid, get a dome light and zip tie the UVB bulbs. I just gave him some baby food, and water and he’s looking much better
