I am still not quite understanding how I make sure my beardie is properly hydrated. Do I just assume that if he is eating bugs that he is getting enough hydration? He's just a baby so do I need to be doing daily baths and hoping he gets enough through the vent? He is not a fan of drinking during his baths and is more apt to fall asleep, if I do put drips on his nose they are usually ignored. Maybe droppers of water offered throughout the day and dripped onto his nose? He hasn't been eating greens at all yet even though I am making him fresh salads every day.
They dont actually absorb water through their vents, so baths aren't giving him any hydration if he isnt drinking in them.
Babies tend to eat enough live food to get a decent amount of water from the feeders, especially if the feeders are healthy. Keep offering the salads they are good for hydration too. Hopefully he will start eating them soon. Have you tried different salad items to see what might interest him? Red bell peppers are a favorite of mine.
Thank you. Yeah I have been trying different greens from the best feeders doc but he still hasn't been very interested. I saw him once take a bite but then he just kind of left the leaf after seeming to struggle with it. Maybe the pieces were too big or something. I added in some yellow bell pepper bits but still he doesn't even look at it and it just dries up slowly.
