I live in BC Canada and had a hyalophora cecropia (silkworm moth) on the windowsill at my work laying eggs. After doing some research it looks like there are many people who breed them and keep them as 'pets' as they are easy to raise and are quite large.
My question - does anyone know if the caterpillar from these guys is okay for bearded dragons? I saw a youtube video of someone feeding an adult moth to their beardie but we all know how reliable youtube videos are...
I have a couple dozen eggs that I wouldn't mind raising (because it sounds fun and they eat many different types of leaves - not just mulberry) and was wondering if this was a potential food source for my beardie as well...
If you have any experience or sites that might help me please let me know!
That is one cool looking caterpillar. I have no idea if you can feed those to beardies...I know you can feed normal silkworms but that is quite different.
