A couple days ago my two month old bearded dragon tried to jump off my hand (he's very energetic and likes to run) and out of reflexes I grabbed him. I decided enough was enough and I put him back in his cage. Then he started rubbing his (front left) foot on his log but it looked a little deformed. When I tried to pick him up he jumped from his log and tried to bite me. He's never done this before. I left him alone and the next day he looked all right but whenever I went to pick him up he tried to bite me and today I picked him up and i touched his foot and he opened his mouth like he was about to bite me. Any suggestions??
update: my bearded dragon is a baby and i cant afford a vet trip. i dont know if i can do anything or if im just overreacting
How is he doing today, has he tried to bite you any? Poor guy, it probaby just hurt & biting was just a way of dealing with it.
I hope he feels better today.
Did it swell up at all?
sorry for not replying quicker i was at school. he walks fine on it and isnt swollen but wont let me touch his leg and whenever i try to reach my hand in the cage (even to feed him) he tries to bite me. ive had one beardie before and she never did the same. im just confused.
ive done some research and i read that some males go through a time period where they are agressive and tempermental... could this also be the case possibly?? he seems a little young but again i cant comfirm his age since he came from a store
