Hello everyone so im at a loss on what to do my beardy has had this lump on his back on going a year now ive taken him to a couple vet clinics here in vegas and most wont do anything because of his age (17) and not to sure what it is? Im going to another doctor next weel for another opinion. Last one i went to offered an array of test but ultimately even if they found out what it is they couldn't do anything cause of age. He gets bathed daily and brushed with a super soft toothbrush. He mainly eats worms with calcium. He has a heat and uvb bulb with a cold side. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Side note he is functioning completely normal besides having the lump. My best guess is a massive build up of shed in a single spot?

That looks like a tumor or cysts to me. At 17 I would be extremely reluctant to do any kind of surgery. He may not survive the anesthesia, let alone the surgery.

Hello,

Has it remained the same size or has it gotten larger?
I am assuming that it is hard to the touch?
I would see if a vet would aspirate the liquid from it if there is any just to see what type of bacteria was
present. It could be an abscess which would have to be removed to be cleared up.
Wow, at 17 that is impressive! I agree, not sure he would make it through surgery. There is always a
chance that if it is not a tumor, etc that it could be lasered off but not sure.
I don't know of anything that would reduce that growth, but you can use silver gel topically in case there
is any local infection.
He is eating normally?

Let us know how things are going & how it goes at the vets.

Flipping over on the back is not a good sign -dragons cannot breath on their backs- please take out all basking decor he can climb on and you can use rolled up dish towels for him to prop on - lower the UVB to approx 13 inches from the floor directly over him --how often are you changing the UVB bulb out? What is the brand and bulb of the UVB?

Good UVB is essential -- all brands are not the same and not as good -- please get one of these for a 24" fixture w/ reflector Reptisun 10.0 ---Arcadia 24 watt 12% bulb

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?
