How'd you get into beardies?

Also...pretty sure he likes the way I taste lol! Every morning and every time I get him out or put him back in his tank, he licks my hand. Specifically my right index finger. Always the right index finger. Never the left, never any other finger.

Taco and I have kind of a ritual:
Whenever I open the tank and he's within reach, I pet him from the lip down the chin to the beard. He then licks that finger.

Nothing to be jealous over.

That's so cute! I can't wait to get another beardie! I plan on getting another once I move out! I've already started brain storming names!

I would get a second, literally now if we had the space. Somebody locally is rehoming for their terminally ill sister

As for Dubias, get more females and another male. Getting a colony going takes time. Once it's going you need to consider the size you are feeding and throw back larger ones to keep growing to breeding size. It's no different than breeding fish. Keep quality breeders, bring in fresh genetics every now and then, remove ones with issues etc....
Forgot, heater too. If its not 80 or so they just won't breed.

So, quick follow up question...
How do you guys bond with your beardies? Mirage is my little guy, but all of my family (save my mother) spends time with him. Lately he has been taking a liking to my sister and my father. I have to admit it's making me a bit jealous. Not sure what else to do! I'm only a couple years from moving out and I'm hoping that having more 1 on 1 time with him will help. Any advice?

I let my guys fall asleep on my chest every night. They learn pretty quickly you are a safe place.
You know your winning them over when it's just not enough to be on your chest, but they have to get right under your neck or prop their chin on yours.

The dragon should perceive you as a safe haven and as a place where it is comfortable and interesting to be.
