Hi. i was just wondering if there are any easy ways to check how healthy your dragon is, (like behavior or coloring etc)
dont get the idea my dragon is sick, i just want some easy ways to be able to look at him and be reassured of his well being, as i am a beardie mom of course.
Some things I would look for are: good appetite, holds his head up most of the time, bright eyes, interested in surroundings, regular moist (but not too moist!) poops, and fat tail base.
There really is no way to tell if your beardie is healthy. A very sick one can look and act healthy. Semi has a lump on his right lung rendering it about useless but he looks and acts super healthy. I only know this because I had regular and barium x-rays to find out why he likes to hold his mouth open. My vet considers him one of the healthiest beardies he has seen, even though he has this and his life will be shortened a lot if it grows anymore.
I think the biggest thing is if you have had your dragon for a while, you will know what it's behavior is. When the behavior changes, that is when you will know there could be a issue.
Of course parasites can cause runny and stinky poop.
