I use tile for my substrate, you can also use paper towels or news paper. Would NOT use sand (ANY KIND) or any other lose substrate. They DO NOT need UV light as they are nocturnal. They DO need their food (insects) dusted with calcium w/ D3.
A 10 gal tank would be big enough for one gecko. Use an Under Tank Heater for heat on one 1/3-1/2 of the tank to keep the BELLY TEMPS around 90-95* (wouldn't suggest going over 95) and the cool side being in the low - mid 80s. Again they don't need a heat lamp, red light, or uv light. Give them at least one moist hide (hide w/ sphagnum moss, coco fiber or other medium) and one dry hide. Best set up would be one moist hide and one dry hide on both the cool and warm sides of the tank. One moist on the warm side and one dry on the cool side will work though.
They can eat any kind of bugs (roaches, worms, crickets), no veggies or fruits.
A food bowl and water bowl, cleaned daily depending on the calcium you use most suggest a dish of calcium left in the tank.
Feed babies every day, juvies every other day, adults can go 2-4 days for feedings.
DO NOT keep male/male together as you will more then likely (99.9% of the time) end up with fights, injuries or deaths (or at least a huge vet bill).
DO NOT keep male/female together UNLESS you want eggs AND you keep a CLOSE eye on them so that the male doesn't drive the female insane
ONLY keep the alone OR in female/female groups and once again KEEP A CLOSE EYE on them. Some ladies just don't get along and will fight!
If you keep them together watch for signs of injuries, not eating and bullying of one from the other. In that event SEPARATE THEM!
Ummm.... can't think of anything else.... post again if you have any more questions.
