The summer has made the humidity levels rise to 50-60%, sometimes 70%. How do I lower the humidity levels of my house? There are no bowls of water that are lying around. I am thinking of investing in a dehumidifier, but I don't know if they can lower the humidity to 30-40%. Most advertise that they can lower the humidity to a 50-60% level that is "ideal for humans", so I am doubtful that they will lower the humidity to a 30-40%. What do you guys suggest, and what are your experiences with dehumidifiers?
I have not had a problem w / having to lower my humidity in my house and its been getting really humid here in MN -- however my a/c seems to do a good job at keeping the humidity level good - so yes if its getting up to 70% and I am assuming that is at night get a dehumidifier set it next to the tank - put some socks of rice in the tank - that too will help draw out the humidity --- are you using a digital
probe hygrometer? If not I would look at getting one --- place it on the back center wall of your tank its going to give you the whole tank %

Thank you very much for the reply I'm not sure why it goes up to 70%, occasionally, I just assume it's because of the weather or because a window is open. I think I will use the rice tip and hydrometer, thank you
