I'm going to be ordering 400 phoenix worms online and I've never used them before. How should I keep them like what should I use as a substrate or should I just leave them in what they come in. Do they eat anything or do they have a special diet like silk worms. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I am not very versed in their care but from what I know yyou leave them in the container they came in and keep them in a cooler place, not the fridge but a cooler with ice packs that keeps the cooler cold but not as cold as a fridge. I kept mine in the garage and that helped but I would forget they were there!!! They say they are highest in calcium when they turn dark but they aren't very wiggly then. I haven't had any trouble with them they are an excellent feeder!!! My big beardie seems to like them the best!
Nope, basically you just leave them in the container they come in and take them as you need them. Really the easiest feeder to take care of, no gutloading or anything like that needed.
These are the easiest feeder. Enjoy doing nothing at all. Keep them in the containers given to you. If the substrate gets too dry put one single drop of water in the middle. Keep at room temp. Enjoy!
Not to hijack your thread, but how old should beardies be before they can eat phoenix worms? After ordering 500 crix and most arrive dead, I'm wondering about them for Yoshi too.

They come in sizes small enough to feed to hatchlings. I started feeding Sarth the smalls when he was only 6" long. I went to the mediums when he hit about 15", but ended up going back to the smalls because he was having trouble digesting the mediums. You should definitely try them out. Order a small cup first to see if they like them first though
