I am just curious. My daughter's lizard is about 4 months old and has had 2 good sheds. Within 1 week of his last shed, he started getting the preshed look again-arms covered in the whitish coloring, etc. Which means in the next 2-3 weeks he will shed again.
How old is your beardie and how often does he shed (and yes I know every lizard is different)
Mine is doing very well even with the parasites that we have been dealing with. he is now 11 1/4" long was just under 6" onJan 4th 2009

Hi there, my beardie is about 7 months old, he was shedding when we got him about 6 weeks ago and has shed twice since. He got that whitish colour on his nose and legs almost as soon as he finished the previous shed. Seems they do it almost constantly while they are young as they are growing fast :)

Typically the younger they are the more often they shed. To qualify that, it is in relation to how fast they are growing too. All dragons grow at different rates but they they tend to grow fairly rapidly during the first few monthes. It's simply the shed as often as they need to depending on their growth.

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
