How often do you guys weigh your adult beardies?

Weekly? Monthly? Only before and after brumation? Only when they look visibly different? I dont want to get obsessive here if I need to just let him be.

Only rarely, mostly to keep him used to the procedure with going into the box (I weigh him sitting in his transport box). More out of curiosity, as I have no concerns about his look.

Agreed, I'll grab weight around brumation or occasionally as a curiosity but otherwise I usually don't.

we do after every poop. but that is a habit from when we rescued him. and our current vet questioning his weight. we see her at the time of year he weighs the most so she thinks that is all year weight. (our previous vet thought he was perfectly fine.) i have more of a "normal trend" approach to it and don't worry too much unless he does wander away from his usual cycle.

For me it is also - and I guess @Sue E. now makes a similar experience with a change in enclosure setup - that I just cannot get out my dragon all the time. My dragon might be in a cave. He might be somewhere at the back of his enclosure where I cannot reach him easily. (I could get him in an emergency, but I would not grab him or sometimes literally dig him out for weighing him.) Or he might be on a higher object like his branch or one of his basking platforms, wants out - and then I might take his weight.

Yeah I dont want to stress him out too much. Although, HE came to ME today for comfort! The neighbor was using his lanwmower and the sound scared Kai so bad he came to the front of his tank and came right to me and so I picked him up, showed him the lawnmower thru the window and let him ride around on my shoulder indoors awhile, looking thru the windows. That melted my heart!

We have a construction site right in front - we live in a high-rise and another one will be built, there is large equipment moving around, a crane, and often the corresponding noise. First I feared this will scare him - but no, after at maximum a bit of irritation he now loves watching. (Very good, as the construction site will be there for the next 2 - 3 years.)

They are precious when they behave like that
It also helps them bond with you better. My first beardie was Christina's creature. She tolerated me but loved Christina. One day in the car the air brakes on a tractor trailer purged and scared her pretty bad. I grabbed her up and she hide under my neck until she calmed down. From then on she was fine with me.

For me, almost never. I can't remember the last time I weighed an adult.

I used to be a little obsessed so I documented everything. Tracking their weight was monthly and after brumation. I would also measure length, but it made me hope they grew quicker so I stopped.
