It takes both parents carrying it to make it visible. If they carry the gene but it isn't displayed then the are "het" for it (heterozygous). Breeding two visible translucents is a bad idea, it could be potentially bad with two visible hypos (it seems to be two schools of thought on hypos). It's much better to breed two hets or a het and a visual. So if you should decide to breed him he is a fantastic choice 🙂.
