How long does it take bearded dragon to swallow oral liquids?

Hey guys,
So I noticed my bearded dragon's throat swollen after I gave him water.
Do you know if this is normal.?
The swelling went down in a matter of minutes


I want to move on with life but it's so hard syringe-feeding the little monster...he squirmed today.
I had a bearded dragon go down from an RTI but I think it's from the bedroom at my parent's house.
The walls were leaking water

They are notorious for holding water in their
throats or beards for short or long periods of time. How much water did you give? It is
usually a good idea to give smaller amounts of water each time, to avoid them holding so
much fluids.
It should recede within a few hours but if it doesn't just give it time. Is he having some trouble breathing?

No, he's breathing just fine.

Just the puffiness that has gone down.

Hey Tracie,
Today after I gave him 2 MLS of water & calcium, he started coughing/choking

Is this normal?
He did it 3 times.

Yeah, sometimes late nights, there are some spam messages. It should get eradicated here pretty
quickly.
Sometimes they can have a hard time if taking in too much fluid all at once, or perhaps it's the way
he is drinking. Are you dripping the fluids onto his nose & letting him lick the fluids from a dropper or
a syringe?
