my beardie died on saturday and im so heart broken over it.. but i keep on wanting to buy one again but i feel a lot of guilt about it since its only been a few days. i dont want to replace her at all i just miss having a lizard and i want to take care of this lizard. do you think its too early?
How old was your dragon?
Why did it pass away?
Have you sanitized the viv? "This is extremely important"
Can you give us a rundown on the setup you have?
Lights....uvb and, basking (brands and, wattages)?
Substrate...type?
Temps?
Size of viv?
These are all very important to a dragon!
I am asking these questions to be sure before I say yes. Because pet stores don't give great advice on dragons. Those dragon kits they sell are lacking in even the basic needs.
In reality your little buddy can never be replaced, you will just be starting a new adventure with another one.
I think if you feel you need a new pet lizard to care for and love and spoil and enjoy, don't beat yourself up about this.
How did the old beardie die ?
.......If the old beardie was sick when it died, and there's a change the illness was caused by some kind of infectious germ , it's really a good idea to strip out the stuff in the old tank and give it all a thorough sterilization using F10. ( A vet strength disinfectant which will kill all infectious pathogens on contact after spraying everything with F10SC diluted 1 part in 200 in water all over them and letting these spray things and the tank air dry at least 30 minutes.)
I lost my Evee in late February. Feb 27th I got a baby - wasn't intending to. I had just managed to clean out Evee's enclosure the day before (Charlie didn't go in it for another week while I 'renovated it'); I walked into Petsmart to let the ladies know that Evee was gone and saw Charlie all by himself. Love at first sight. I brought him home that day. Sometimes getting a new one helps fill the void left by the loss of the first one...I love all my pets, but my heart is big enough to let in more...
