So we got our beardie in February when he was a baby. It's been 3 months, and he's really eating the lettuce I am leaving out, like clearing out the entire feeding bin all of a sudden. I'm wondering how you know when you need to reduce protein daily? I'd love to reduce, it's an expensive venture to feed this little monster!
It's great that he's into his salads. I'd keep providing them as they are a good source of variety in the diet. At his age though I'd still offer as many bugs as he wants for 10 minutes or so daily because he'll still need the protein. The switchover time varies from dragon to dragon but usually happens around when they're almost fully grown at 12-18months old. It does get expensive to feed them during the growth spurts but gets way easier as they become adults and eat less overall and eat more veges. Since he's into his salads, I'd offer him 2-3 items from this list every day to provide a healthy meal. http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html
