My Paarthurnax is healthy in every way, it seems. He's active, spunky, and a VERY zealous eater of both veggies/fruits and live prey. The only thing that worries me is that he looks to be on the tubby side. I know that some bearded dragons will eat themselves to a very unhealthy weight, but that's the trouble. Exactly how do you determine what a healthy weight is for your particular beardie? He's just over a foot long now, and he's got one heck of a cricket gut.
It sounds like he is far growing. ;-) Mine is underweight, but depending on how she is sitting, she looks quite chunky! It could be the angle yours is laying or leaning ?
Perhaps. . . I think I may just schedule an appointment with the nearest reptile vet. He has never been in, and I want to get him checked for parasites anyway. I've seen no evidence of them, but I'd like to be sure. I'm sure the vet will be able to tell me if he looks like he's overweight, or just growing steadily. You may be right, and it may just be the angle. Sometimes he looks huge, sometimes he looks normal.
