I'm in college and my roommate is terrified of crickets. How can I stop them from escaping? It seems like one escapee turns up every couple of days or so. I've taped over the top of my cricket keeper and the holes. My bearded dragon and anole tanks don't have any holes other than the mesh tops, and I taped up the sides of my toad tank where they could possibly have been escaping from. I use tubes to move crickets and I've never seen one fall out during that. How could they be escaping?? I really need to fix this problem before my roommate gets any more upset about it..
Try putting a line of packing tape along the inside of the cricket tanks (and reptile tanks if they are fed there) so that the crickets cant climb out. Feeding in a feeding bin also helps.
Put the cricket keeper inside another bigger bin with a screened lid?
Make sure the crickets that are fed off get eaten so they are at least accounted for.
