I was just wondering how everyone came up with names for their beardie? I was watching Lord of the Rings when I came up with Arwyn's name. And my new baby that will not be home until sometime in August (She hatched on July 3rd), will be named Phoenix because if she is anything like the one I saw from the same parents that hatched last year then she will be mostly red, orange, and yellow just like the mythical bird.
Tiki was a rescue dragon. Tiki is her nickname - her full name is Tikvah, which is Hebrew for "hope" - as in we really hope she will have an amazing long life with us!
Lenny got his after I had a few ideas of what I wanted to name him, and when I called the vet they asked for his name and I paused and was like 'uhh...................LENNY!' First one that came to mind and it just stuck from there.
All of our beardies are named after spices or condiments. It started out with our first beardie. We named her Wasabi due to the fact that I love Wasabi peas and wasabi in my noodles and on my sushi etc. Plus she is kind of feisty and sneaks up on you. Kinda went from there LOL. Now the names match up with their colors.
Wasabi= normal with yellow and orange - the first family beardie
Shoyu= trans with lots of different colors including green, brown, gray, yellow and orange but he is pretty much soy sauce colored atm.
Cayenne= Right now he is kind of dark brown with hints of orange
Cinnamon= red or orange red (we shall see but her parents were really red)
Paprika= orange or orange red (we shall see what she ends up as colorwise)
Saffron= Is supposed to be sandfire/citrus but he was sick when we got him and is just now showing some yellow
Peppercorn= normal with light tans and browns.
I asked my daughter - 13 months old at the time - what she wanted to name "her" dragon. I expected her to point at something. Instead, she waved at me. So, Wave.
I looked up mythical gods/goddesses when choosing Nemesis' name. Nemesis is the Greek goddess of revenge. My baby that has yet to hatch will be named Pazuzu, after the Assyrian wind demon.
Spike got his name from when I first tried picking him up the day I brought him home he puffed up his big black beard and spiked me on my hand He is totally tame now though!
I have a girl friend not my gf just a friend that named her dragon Bella from that stupid twilight movie or show idk. But shes a ***** dont even no the sex yet thats why i haven't named my two. Idc my red dragon is named steal male or female idc hes tough as steal. Eat any dragon under the table endless pit my beardie. Hes over the age of ten and can't be stopped.
i named Archer after FX's spy-ish cartoon, "Archer": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1486217/. i had sort of settled on that name because i bought him right as i was watching season 2 of "Archer." when i first bought my beardie i had actually intended to buy a female, but he sort of picked me with his tempting glass dancing and all, and a few days later i sexed him, and yep: boy. the name Archer could have worked for either gender, because it's the last name of the main character and his mother. anyway, right after i sexed Archer and discovered his maleness, he pooped on me, then jumped on my chest and fell asleep. at that moment he seemed to embody the character on my tv show, so the name absolutely stuck lol. (i keep meaning to contact the network or something to introduce my little homage).
