How are you feeding Dubias to your dragons?

Until now, I've been feeding primarily superworms out of a special worm dish. However, I'm switching to dubias and they seem to be able to escape pretty much every container I've tried. I don't want to just let them loose in the enclosure because there are a few places they can hide. Any ideas?

I have a dish that is the same size and shape as a bread pan but its only about 2" tall. The dubia can't get out and its big enough that Jupiter can get in he dish with them. When he is older, I will use a heavy ceramic dog dish, it has a nice slick glaze inside and even large dubia can't get out.

We've got a square glass dish (around 5cm or 2" high) that we put the roaches in. They cannot climb the glass. In between feedings, we leave a ceramic bowl that is approximately 2.7" high with a few roaches in, but they do sometimes escape. A trick we got from the roach breeder we buy from is to put a line of petroleum jelly on the inside of the container - best if you are using a container with a lip under which you can put the jelly so the dragon cannot reach it.

When I used to work construction we had a saying "If you can't raise the bridge, try to lower the water." So I took your suggestion and removed any gaps or other objects behind which they can hide. I took out the background and put one up behind the glass, I filled in the gaps between the slate, and I basically cleaned up the inside of the enclosure. Hopefully this will do the trick.

I have a lot of dragons so feeding time is time consuming for me... lol

I take my dragons out when I feed them, or feed one dubia at a time on dish in the enclosure. Taking them out is easier. I let them pig out and when they start showing no interest or slowing down a lot, I stop. The smaller beardies, I feed periodically through out the day. I have a container I put my Dubias in that I feed through throughout the day. I have had waaay to many hide when I try feeding a bunch in a dish.

I did come up with a clever way to feed a baby. I had a shallow tupperware container, I would put it next to his baskspot and he could jump in and out of the container, and the dubia could no get out. MUCH easier since he ate so many little nymphs.

I feed while I am there and make sure they do not hide and are eaten.
When they see the dust container they know it is feeding time.
You can also use a slippery dish.

I use a small glass bowl. The only time they escape is if some of the calcium or vitamin powders stick to the side to give them little footholds to get out :p in which case I just rinse the bowl out. It works well for the 3/4" size nymphs, anything much bigger can get out though.
Here is a vid of Sarth eating some dubias, you can see the bowl pretty well
