Hello , I am new to these forums. Here in Florida, during the summer, it gets really hot and really humid. I live in Orlando, Florida to be exact. Is it safe to have my dragon outside for about 2 hours at a time when the humidity is so high(65%)? His enclosure has a reptisun 10.0 fluoresent bulb and a exoterra solar glo 160w bulb for his basking spot, in a 75 gallon tank. Thanks in advance!
That humidity level is way too high for them and can cause problems with dragons. Although temps are great there the muggy atmosphere may be a bit too much for your beardie... Average range of humity for beardies is abot 10-30% from what ive researched. Anything above is not good
I live in Hernando County, Florida.
Be careful about having them outside for too long in Florida. Not just the humidity factor can be dangerous but the temps in the sun can be too high for them. Make sure there is a shady spot like a half log or something. And there is plenty of water.
I was going to take mine outside this morning at 10 am. I checked the temperature first because the sun was shining on their outside cage. The thermometer went up to 120 degrees right away in that spot. I decided to wait and take them out to sun later in the day. Always check temperatures and humidity.
Are yours freaking out at all the fireworks outside tonight? Had to move mine away from the windows. They were scared and hiding.
