Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site and the reptile world. In the very near future I plan on getting a bearded. But I wanted to know what specifically I need. I feel like pet stores tell you you "need" certain things just to sell you more you really don't need. I've done alot of research but any tips or advice anyone for a first time bearded owner is greatly appreciated.

Best bet is to get a 40gal breeder tank you can find them on craigslist normally for a good deal. And you'll want repticarpet, newspaper, paper towels for the tank lining, sand will compact them. Either the Reptisun10 or Arcadia12 for uv bulb. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on th Arcadia I use reptisun. Anywho also most of us use a household 100watt bulb for basking spot and you may or may not need a ceramic heater bulb(best way I can describe it) for at night if you temps get to low. Calcium and a multivitamin for dusting crickets. I hear dubia are super easy to raise and breed for feeders I haven't tried just yet they kinda scare me lol. I order my crickets online I get 1000 for $28 with shipping next day.

For babies you'll want your basking spot at 105-110F make sure your uv bulb is on the inside of the tank screens fliter out the uv rays.

Thanks about all I am coming up with at the moment. You've come to a great place! Feel free to ask any other questions!!! Can't wait to see your new beardie =) They are awesome!

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
