New poster here and owner of a 4-5 month old for the past two weeks. I'm having a hard time finding good hides for my dragon that will last him well into adulthood. Does anyone have any recommendations?
As of right now he has a large resin half-log from Petco and two cardboard boxes for his hides. I want to replace the boxes with something permanent. Preferably, I'd like to avoid one that doubles as a basking spot because he already has one made out of stacked flat stones, so they'd likely be too big for the 36"x18"x18" he's currently in.
I use a large piece of cord as a ranp on the side of the tank. Kirby likes to his under it when he is brumating. He has never actually used his "true" hide we bought him
for mine, i took a small, old basket, cut out a large hole, superglued all the edges that could possibly give him a splinter, and surrounded the inside and out with black fabric.
I got one of those rabbit/guinea pig hides, its a house with a flat roof, so it can be used as a hide and a basking platform mine love them, jubsie got hers at 3 months and has used it ever since. I also put a blanked in the bottom so they can burrow into that. Cost about £9 buy lasts for a good while
