I've read everywhere that coil bulbs could make Sage, my bearded dragon, sick. And was wondering maybe if I changed the bulb, he'd start eating, drinking and moving around more. Do you guys have any recommendations about what screw in bulb I should get? It'd be really helpful. I don't want him to get sick and need him to eat more. Thanks
Honestly I'd go with a tube style reptisun 10.0 T5. There are some good MVBs out there however I have never used one. A user that is more experienced with that type of UVB may have some good recommendations if that is a route you'd be interested in. I've heard good things about powersuns but can't really recommend something I've never used.
I like the T5 tubes as well. They are nice and powerful - it makes a big difference. I prefer them over a mercury vapor bulb in the main tank because you can control UVB (height) and temperature (basking light height/output/wattage) separately. I use one of these and it is great http://www.lightyourreptiles.com/22-t-5-ho-fixture-high-output-with-arcadia-d3-12-ho-bulb/ It should sit about 12'' above the basking area.
