Hi everyone! Me and my boyfriend have been using this website for the past several weeks(since we inherited 2 beardies) and it just dawned on me that we haven't registered.
We had 2 beardies, one male and one female. We THOUGHT they were both males, but then Ryan laid 19 eggs last week! It was definetley a suprise to us! Unfourtunatley Ryan also had yellow fungus and after laying her first clutch (with us atleast), she passed.
It was terribly sad and we are still coping with our loss. I never thought I would become so attatched!!
Anyways, we just wanted to introduce ourselves and say hello! so...HELLO!!!!
hello, sorry to hear about your loss Were you keeping the two beardies in the same enclosure? If so, you should probably get the male checked out by a vet... i don't know a lot about yellow fungus but i think it's contagious :?
And yeah it's amazing how quickly you get attached to them... I've only had my boy a week and a half and I just adore him
Laying eggs is a hard process for a female, it really takes alot out of them and then add the fact that Ryan also had yellow fungus, it's sad but not surprising that she passed. I'm sooooo sorry for your loss.
Do you know if the eggs are fertile? If they are do you plan on keeping the eggs?
Thanks for the responses. We are definetley keeping the eggs. Weve started the incubation process but were not sure if they are fertile. They were pretty big, maybe an inch to an inch and a half big. They aren't white either, more like a yellowish white......my bf is really hoping we can hatch. he was closer to Ryan than I was.....
