Hi everyone! Glad to have found such a wonderful place!

My name is Christie, and I am not really the owner of Rupert, my son is, but I have grown SO fond of the little guy! I had no idea they were so sweet, and had little personalities!

My son had told me he wanted a lizard for his birthday, and I told him as long as he did his research, studied up, and felt ready to take on FULL responsibility of it, then he could have one. I did my homework too, asking around which kind would make a good first pet for a 12 year old, and it was unanimous, a bearded dragon.

We got Rupert 2 months ago as a baby, the little guy barely fit in the palm of my hand! But now he has doubled in size!

I have grown quite fond of the little fella, he is just adorable, and even has a personality. He loves to eat out of your hand, and I always chop him up a fresh salad of mustard greens, bok choy, and apples everyday.

Anyway, I thought this would be a great community to see all of your beardies, ask questions, and get advice!

Didn't want to confuse you all when I mention my beardies in future posts, but we now know with 100% certainty that our oldest is a female, not a male and she has been renamed "RubySue"! The name is perfect and definitely suits her!

Be sure to check out my updates on her and her .... not so faithful sidekick (he doesn't like her que sara sara!) Freddie, the baby of the 2! I will also be posting more pics, I already have a TON especially since RubySue delights in getting under her blankie, snuggling my neck/chest area and falling sound asleep. (OMG I love this girl with all of my heart!) She loves her mommy just as much!

The basking side of my tank isn't getting up to the suggested 100degrees. Does that mean I need to get a new basking light?
