I'm pretty new here so I thought i'd introduce myself. My name's Matt Wall i'm 17, I live in Birmingham (England) and have been keeping reptiles for 6 years now. My first reptiles were 3 corn snakes, one Snow Motley Corn Snake (Orion), one Charcoal Corn Snake (Casper) and one Carolina Corn Snake (Taz). I had a Rankins Dragon for 5 years called Oscar, a gorgeous little lizard and i'm now hoping to extend my collection to a Bearded Dragon and possibly a Jungle Carpet Python (Mum permitting  )
I'm currently in my final year of college studying Biology, Chemistry, Ethics and Philosophy and hope to go on to university to study Animal Biology and Ecology/Conservation. From there I hope to become a herpetologist.
Thanks for letting me join and if I can help anyone in any way I'll try my best though I'm by no means infallible
oooo 17 in college huh?? Man I wish I would have went to college! Oh well my current job pays well so I cant complain! Good Luck in your years of study! I envy you right about now! I wanted to be a vet when I was younger but couldnt stand to see any animal not being saved and having to be put down! I am too emotionally attached to all animals! Oh and seeing as how you are studying to be an herpetoligist you could probably be very useful in the new treatments & such! Glad to see you here! 8)

I'm exactly the same, I physically couldn't put an animal down, even if it was for the best. I hope i'm going to be useful, It's always good helping people who have helped you
Hi again Matt...I'm not a vet but I worked as a vet tech for a while in between jobs years ago...It's very very sad to put an animal down down but in most cases you know in your heart that the pet is in a better place...Severe pain, long agonizing illness, old age that has made a life nothing but misery, totally sad but there's no guilt to it because what you're really doing is giving deserved relief and rest...The worst thing I ever had to do though was to help put down 3 completely healthy dogs because they attacked and killed another dog...When I got home that day I grieved from the deepest part of my heart for those dogs and the one they killed..They ARE a pack animal afterall...
Did I just totally ramble there ?
