I think I'm going to get him a higher basking spot today, maybe an extra stone or two. My basking spot was only reading 90 degrees. Thats too low isnt it?
My house never gets lower than 76degrees (welcome to Florida)
The screen doesnt have typical sized opening. They are 1" by 1" openings and I took a wire cutter and cut out an opening for the fixture so there is very little obstruction of the light coming through.
I'm having a hard time with getting the basking temp just right. I have a 100 watt incandescant and a dimmer. One setting and the temp is around 90 another and it goes up to 104 I cant get a happy medium. Is 104 too high for an adult?
90 isn't bad for adult..1 you can either swap the 100 out for a 60 watt or 2 use the dimmer and raise the fixture up...Either way for an adult try not going hotter then 95
Ok I'll try the 60 watt tomorrow. He's not eating his veggies! I gave him some big ol' fat superworms the day he came home Thursday afternoon(he inhaled them lol). Gave him a fresh salad the next morning with Collar greens and shredded butternut squash and he barely touched it. I also gave him another fresh salad this morning and he barely touched that too.

He probably just doesn't want to eat veggies, mine is almost 5 months old and the only veggies he will eat is collard and butternut but only a little...Try some crickets or dubia
