She has been basking all day. She won’t dig. She keeps making sharp movements near her butt and pelvis. I can’t tell if she is adjusting or not. She won’t eat today. Her fat pads have been looking sunken since she started running. I thought it was from shedding. But, today her tail fat pads don’t look so great either. I’m very confused.

She just pooped an egg came out too.
I syringed 6 ml of reptaboost in her mouth. Which should be all she needs for the day. At least if she wasn’t gravid. I gave her a bath earlier. She drank water in it. She only stayed in there for 3 minutes though. Now I’m just letting her rest I. The basking like she wants. Im hoping to bring her to the vet tomorrow.

Did you get her to the vet? I’m not trying to scare you, but she needs a vet sooner than later. I had a female that, unfortunately, idk she was gravid. She stopped eating on a Wednesday, was open mouth breathing Thursday, got her to the reptile specialist Friday and she was dead Sunday afternoon. Turns out, she didn’t have enough calcium to form the eggs, they ruptured, congealed, then became infected. While in the bath, she was twisting and contorting her body in ways I’ve never seen. I thought she was constipated, but she wasn’t. Sounds like you’re aware of her being gravid, so that’s likely a good sign in that I assume you’ve been giving her calcium and everything? Do you have a dig box for her? They need at least 6” of substrate to lay eggs, from what I’m told. I have another female that, after all that happened with Sophia, I took an old 40 gallon aquarium and put play sand and coconut husk in (mixed with warm water but I’m sure you know that already) to put Maggie in should she show signs of being gravid. If she starts open mouth breathing, and you can’t afford surgery, just have her put down. I wish the vet had me put Sophia down when I took her in because she suffered the whole time till she passed 😞 The pain meds did nothing, and I’ll never forgive myself for letting her suffer like that.. I hope you get some answers for your baby.. just get her to the vet if you can. Tell them it’s an emergency and see if they’ll work her in, if you can afford it. Money has been my biggest issue for sure.

Hello, I took her to the vet. The vet said the eggs didn’t feel bound. She got an x-ray. The vet said they weren’t bound. The vet said to hydrate her today. And she how she does tomorrow. If she isn’t doing better. They are going to inject her to force labor. I’m not sure how much I should hydrate her.

She has a lay box. She dug in it on Wednesday right when I put it in. She didn’t dig at all on Thursday. So, i made the rest of the hole for her in case she just wants to go in there and lay.

This is all pretty similar to her past clutches she laid. The vet would use shot of Oxytocin only if needed and since she's ben digging already she will probably resume pretty soon. Like the past 2 clutches, she will probably be fine. :)

Ok, thank you! She looks dehydrated to me and tired yesterday. I’m afraid she is too dehydrated to attempt laying. Right now she is basking because she was at the vet for a long time. Then, I’m going to soak her and give her more fluids. I already gave her 6ml of reptaboost. I think I might try to do 6 more. Since, the package says you can give 200% of the daily recommended intake to animals who need the extra nutrients. The , I might try to syringe her water after that. She ate 2 crickets today, but didn’t want anymore.

Remember, they stop eating before laying so that's normal. The Reptaboost is fine, be sure you don't cause her to choke though, you need to see her swallowing. And a soak is O.K, just 5 minutes or so because that won't hydrate her unless she drinks.

Ok, thank you very much! I try to give it like it says. I rub the syringe in the corner of her mouth. She opens it a bit . And I put a bit on her tongue. The vet made it sound like the baths would hydrate her through her vent. He said he thought it was better than oral fluids. But, I won’t do it for more than 5 minutes.

Would it be ok if I stay with her and watch her throughout the day? Since all she is doing is basking. Or does she need time alone for her to decide to lay the eggs.

Oh that is EXCELLENT news!!!! I’m so glad she’s not eggbound. I hope that she’s able to lay them on her own, but better safe than sorry. I would call them and ask to what extent you should hydrate her. Are they saying they want her to drink a lot, or soak a lot or both? That would be my question.

I wanted them to give her fluids. But, they said oral hydration was better. Then, they said to soak her. She doesn’t like getting baths. But, the vet made that seem like that was what he thought was the best option. I’m not sure if I can call to ask how much. But, I was going to give her 200% of her daily intake. Which the box of reptaboost says is for animals who need the extra. And maybe some water tok later. I haven’t started giving fluids yet. Because I’m pretty sure she is cold from the vet. She left in the morning. And was there for 3 hours. Because the vet office was very busy.

They don't hydrate through the vent, that's an old myth. If humans take a bath and lay in the water, or your dog or cat does it hydrate us or them ? No.

And remember you were very worried the other times but when she was ready to lay she did so.
Ok, thank you very much! Would it help get the eggs out like poop? Should I leave her alone in case she wants to lay? Or would it be ok to stay since she is basking for the day?

She was having a staring contest with a mealworm. I guess I never taught her to not play with her food, lol.
