My son's( Brock) baby beardie was sitting on couch with him, one minute he was there the next he was gone. We have searched everywhere, even almost tore apart the couch, Kyle is nowhere to be found. Any suggestions on how to find the lil bugger? Brock is so upset.
Thanks
Set up a basking spot on the floor near where you last saw him. I hope you find him soon! Make sure you check all the tiniest crevices they love to squeeze!
I just went through this! I totally understand the panic... Taz escaped from his cage, and I found him half way across the house in the laundry room under a big storage cement bucket! I don't know how on earth he managed to get under there in the first place, but he was snoozing when I found him. Good luck to you! I also placed a few plastic tupaware type things with a few crickets in them here and there around the house, next to basking spots. I figured the noise of them moving, and the motion of them as well would attract him. Then I searched every room methodically... removed cushons from couches, blankets, lived (carefully!) furnature to look under it, etc., and when I had gotten done searching an area and knew Taz wasn't there, I blocked it off with either a sheet of plywood, or a towel under the door so there was no way Taz could slip past me and get in. Good luck to you both, and let us know how it goes!
(hoping you've found him by this point, since I'm posting nearly a day after you posted though... but if not, hope this helps!)
He's Been FOUND!!!!! Wheweee, found this morning. Have an end table with a lace doily thing next to couch, theres a barn wooden thing there, thats where he was, right near the barn. Brock cried all night long, i was sad too, it's almost like loosing a child. Thanks for all your help everyone.
I once lost a 2" baby brown Anole. Somehow got out of his cage with a screen top. Found it hours later hanging out on a brown log I hadn't put in his enclosure yet. Not sure if he was trying to blend in, but I was shocked when I found him for sure.
