Does anyone know what is happening to my beardie Chucks ear. When I was feeding her this eve I noticed a lump of what looks like shedding skin coming from her ear. The only thing is, it seems a little pussy and I think I see a tiny amount of blood too. She is 5 years old, really healthy, really activate & just finished off to large pinkies for her dinner.
I´m worried though cause she has never had anything like this before.
I´ll try & upload a photo of the ear now (does anyone know how I do that?)
. If anyone has an idea what it is, I would be very grateful.
If you don't have one already, create an account with photobucket. Then upload your picture to it and use the img code to copy and paste into the thread.
A picture would be very helpful.
It could be a tumor, or an abscess developing. Has she been injured that you know of? It sounds like it is infected though, especially if if looks like it has pus in it & is draining.
If you don't know of a vet, try looking here:
Took Chuck to the vet this morning. Couldn´t leave like that for the weekend in case no suitable vet was opened.
She´s on antibiotics and shes back in the vets on Tuesday to have the lump removed & the ear cleaned out.
He hasn´t really suggested what is it yet, but he seems to think that Duke may have just been´over-amorous´!
Yes, that could be an injury of some sort that got infected so I am glad she is on antibiotics. That is great you got her to a vet so quickly also.
Please let us know how she is doing.
Good news. Chuck is doing much better, although she is clearly still cross with me for bringing her to the vet!!! The lump had to be removed and the site isnt very pretty at the moment but the vet says she's a lovely looking animal, in great health and she should be just fine
That is great news Chuck is doing better now!
Did they determine exactly what the lump was? I am sure that it did not feel good at all to have it removed, but once it is all healed up she should be just fine.
How is her appetite now?
Sad news all. Poor Chuck passed away the other week. The infection in her ear, that we thought had cleared up ended up going right through her system. The vet said she didn´t really have a chance, her little body just couldn´t fight off the infection.

I'm sorry Chuck died. I know how much it hurts. We lost 4 beardies in a 2 year period and that made us a little afraid that we would loose the two we currently have. I'm glad you got to her to the vet when you did, but sometimes, it's not soon enough like it was with our MIss O and nothing you do will be good enough. Redrock injured herself and we got her to the vet immediately (two different vets) yet she died 10 days after the injury.
