[Hi, Can someone please look at these pics. Anyone have an idea of what the black spot above Puck's eye is? And also let me know if he looks Healthy? He was at the vet in September for his 1yr check up(vet said he was healthy) he is 16 months old now.. He is stubborn about eating the fresh greens in his tank everyday (eats them once in a while), eats Dubai roaches 2-3 times a week. Have a T5 (6-7 months old) inside his Zen Habitat 2x2x4 tank, has 2 100w bulbs in top of screen. Temp on basking spot is usually 104-109(air temp is 99-103) at the walls its 89-90 next to the lights, other side is at the lowest by the wall 79.9 degrees. Have a 60w heat emitter on at night, makes it around 75-80 on top of the basking spot. He has been a bit lazy as of late (last couple months).
Could you circle in red the exact spot you're concerned about ? He looks quite normal in the pics provided, being lazy in winter is also a common dragon behaviour!
Ahh I see what you mean now thank you. It looks to me like a hurt or bent scale, unfortunately I've never dealt with this but hopefully Tracie will pop into the thread and offer advice!
Does it hurt him when you touch it ? is it something that feels like you can pick off ie like a scale hanging off?
Hmmm, maybe try and give him a long soak with some hibiscrub. I'd reccomend trying to clean the area and maybe remove some debris, it is possible that it could be a cut or slight injury
Did he possibly scratch it on something in his tank?
A lot of times, they rub their heads on rocks, etc that can cause irritations. You could also
try some raw, unpasteurized honey to help out too. It could shed off gradually, but I don't
think it is anything serious at the moment but do keep an eye on it.
