Hey I'm new to this website last month I brought a baby bearded dragon, he was fine until past 3-4 days hes totally gone of his food he has a 100w basking lamp and a 10.0 UVB lamp across his cage , the temperature is correct 110 in the basking spot and around 85 on the other side. He has clean water and veggies but he doesnt really eat his veggies so I make sure his crickets and well fed so he gets his nutrients, i dust the crickets in calcium for him, he also has the occasional meal worms. He was fine until recently any ideas? If I let him out he always try's to eat bits and bobs on the floor tho any help will be appricated thanks .
How old is this dragon?
Your referenced baby but, then you also said the dragon bobs?
Can you post a picture of the dragon and of the enclosure please?
since he had some mealworms, it could be impaction. I forget if it is olive oil or something but mix some of that in with applesauce to help him make poo.
Beardies like to lick everything in site when they are younger. Also, you say a 10.0 UVB tube--can you please tell us what brand?
well I hate to tell you the repti GLO is not really any good and causes issues (lethargy, eye problems, eating problems). If you can get a repti SUN 10.0 TUBE i think you would start to see an improvement. Mealworms are a common cause of impaction in beardies as well so it could be a combo of the mealies and the UVB bulb (he is not getting adequate UVB exposure with this bulb) Do you also have a bright white bulb as a basking light
if your in the UK then you might want to get the 'Arcadia 12% D3' UVB tube. reptisuns are quite expensive in the UK and can be hard to find. you can get the arcadia online from http://reptilekeeping.co.uk
Some say the arcadia is better than the reptisun though it is not available in all countries, which ever you choose they are both good UVB lights.
