For some reason whenever I give my beardie, Chibi, a bath she always starts breathing really heavily. I make the water isn't too hot - just slightly above room temperature. She does drink from the water. Any ideas as to why she would be breathing hard (it's not enough for her to start gaping but still)? Is it normal?
It could be a reaction to the change in pressure from the water. Or it could be a signal of stress (increased breathing rate). Does she seem to enjoy the bath or does she try to get out? If she isn't getting her head in the water then it shouldn't be a problem but if she is acting stressed then baths aren't worth it.
