What should I get for a 75 gallon. My house is pretty cool in winter but warm in summer so I will probably need to adjust for the seasons.
So tube florescent light with a heat source(CHE) or megaray heat and light in one style? I guess the problem is I dont know what wattages to keep the heat where it needs to be in a big tank.
I would probably need a small heat or light source on the cool side as well during winter or it will drop lower then 70.
If someone has a 75 gallon already what do you use for heat and light?
I will be using dubias and crickets so I want some kind of substrate that wont cause impaction and the stupid bugs cant hide under. I guess tile is going to be the best bet but wont the urates leak under them? I want easy peasy cleaning first and foremost.
Well for myself personally I use a zilla reflector dome and 150w bulb for the heat and an 18" fixture with a reptisun 10.0 UVB fluorescent bulb. Make sure you put the mount the UVB bulb to where the light goes directly into the cage (not behind a screen).
I have a 150 watt CHE and it heats it pretty hot, up to 90 degrees on the bottom of the tank. Do you have a dimmer on your light? The cool side stays around 74 with the 150 watt thats why I was wondering if I should add an extra heat bulb to bump it up a bit.
Is there a good light bulb that gives better light then others(not uvb just more of a full spectrum then incandescents).
I have a 18 inch tube light so thats covered, just need a heat bulb that gives good light.
