Head Bobbing When Higher Than Me

Heya! Just adopted my first bearded dragon, she’s an adult but seems be adjusting well. Going on my 3rd week with her & all seems well. Yet one strange behaviorism I can’t read well is she sometimes bobs her head if say, she’s on the couch above me & I’m sitting on the floor. It seems to be directed at me. Is this a territory thing? If I stand up, or sit next to her at eye level she stops pretty immediately.

Yeah head bobbing is often territorial or hormonal. It is a form of communication between them. Sometimes it appears to be involuntary on their part and they'll just start head bobbing at nothing or give some half hearted headbobs. In your case she may just be absentmindedly head bobbing over her territory and gets distracted when you appear in her immediate field of view.
