I have a question I have been incubating my bearded dragons eggs for 2 months and yesterday they began hatching so I put them in a 4x2x2 enclosure divided in half because it's too big for them now but my question is when will they begin to eat I have offered them baby dubias but they don't seem to pay attention to them I also order 2 thousand pinhead crickets which will be here soon. I just need some assurance that they will begin to eat
Well some of my baby's start eating that day they are off the egg sack!! Some others a day or two..You can also offer them greens. And don't forget to add calcium!! Hope this helps.....
thanks for the reply I seen some start eating some dubias so that's a start and I sure will dust them I have them under a mecury vapor bulb which they seem to enjoy
Hi There,
I offer greens from day 1 out of the egg. I start putting small amounts of prey in the bin the next day and just increase the amounts to match the appetite. Sometimes it takes a couple days for them to start really eating.
Thanks for the reponse well I got my crickets today so I put a bunch of them inside the enclosure and they all started chasing them and ate them pretty quick I just sat there watching that the didn't fight for them but I have fed them about 5 times and they still keep eating it's pretty cool watching them eat.
Thanks again
Wow, very strange.
We have also been incubating our eggs for 2 months (since 19th April) and the first couple started making an appearance yesterday. We're also going to keep them in a 4x2x2 sectioned in half. 8)
Good luck with your babies - here are a couple of pictures of our eggs!
