He's doing really well he's figuring out how to eat the way he is. Tonight he ate 6 crickets out of my hand . It takes him longer then the others to eat but he's eating. If he keeps this good progress I see him not needing to much extra care later on. Just slightly smaller food then the norm. It's also making him the most social with me an his siblings. An he is a lover an a attention hog lol.
Oh that is wonderful to hear, what a little trooper he is. I bet he is going to be a real sweetie then. Are you going to keep him?
I am glad he is starting to adjust how he eats then, that will give him some confidence definitely & help with nutrition so he can start growing!
Well he's eating better I think he has good chances. As long as the crickets are small enough he eats them just like the others. I'm still hand feeding him but he's eating a lot more. Still small though he's even smaller then the youngest hatching. He just might always be small. On guy has seemed interested in him. He's had beardies before an he's retired grandfather he's definitely got the time for him.
That's great ! As long as he eats well he should be fine, and how nice that you have an interested person lined up. Hopefully the man has experience with babies....seems like it'll be a good match.
That is great to hear he is eating more now, even if they are smaller. He may just be a smaller dragon but if he is healthy then that is all that matters.
You can hand feed him also, to help him along also. Oh you think you are going to rehome him then when he gets a little older?
Yep we are only keeping on of the hatchlings. My son picked the one that was born with a bent tail. I didn't even think his egg would hatch lol but he's a big healthy lizard other then his tail an the most unique colored. I'd keep tiny but with the new one I'll have four dragons as it is lol. But I'm Making sure they r all going to good homes expecially tiny. Oh I have been hand feeding him. He took to that easily.
Oh ok, well I guess that one with the bent tail will stay. I hope the one you are working with now will find a good home, too.
I am happy to hear he is doing so good right now. I know you can't keep them all. LOL
Yeah lol if I could I would. I hate seeing them go their just like my own kids lol. My other half thinks I'm nuts cause I can tell which baby is which . He says they all look the same, to me each one is different an has its own personality. An the two who are a little different physically have the best personalities lol. They are sweetie pies.
Yeah, you can tell them apart most times & they have different personalities, too.
I am glad he is doing great now! Your wife thinks you are crazy? LOL Has she spent any time watching them?
It would be impossible to keep them all!
Lol nope I do all the work with them. We got the two adults we have from a friend of my cousins and they didn't know their sex all they knew was that one was female because they said it layer eggs once but they weren't fertile. We'll as soon as we picked them up (which was a quick re homing because they couldn't keep them) I knew they weren't both female . I sexed them an I was right . A week later bam 24 fertile eggs I wasn't prepared for. I quickly gathered what I had to make a diy incubator. So I've been there from th e beginning lol . (An the adults came to me in a 20 gallon tank together I was appalled. I had to buy them bigger tanks an start feeding them right . The only thing they had been feeding them was dead bugs an Romain lettuce :/ )
OH of course, it always seems to happen that way! At least they were lucky & got a great home though & the babies have a chance now.
It sounds like you had your hands full straight from the start, upgrading the tanks & getting them healthy.
I guess you ended up with more than you bargained for, but you have had a lot of fun, right? LOL
I hope they are all doing well.
Lol yep I did. They are all doing well. All but 4 have shed for the first time an it didn't take them long either lol. The ones that hatched first are 7 " already. The tiny little guy that has the defect has caught up to the siblings that hatched the same time he did an he's eating with no problems now . I just feed him sepretly from the others so they don't take it right out his mouth lol. The only thing I really watch with him now is sometimes food (crickets or plants) gets built-up on the sides of his mouth an I clean it out of his gums where the extra skin is . He's gotten so spoiled needing the extra attention all I have to do is say tiny an he comes running up to the glass an stands on his hind legs lol.
Oh wow, that is wonderful he has caught up with his siblings now. I am sure he is happy about that. LOL It sounds like he is very spoiled indeed with all of the extra attention. It must be a relief he can eat pretty normally now. I am so happy to hear that he is doing well & growing.
They do shed quickly don't they? He knows his name already too? Hm, you sure you are not keeping him?
Yep lol. I wish I could keep him but he's not going far my aunt is taking him. So he'll always be close to home sn I told her if she ever finds that she can't keep him he's to come back here.
That is terrific he isn't going far! So your aunt can spoil him then, that is cool.
He will have an extended family then, so you can see him anytime you want to. He will be happy about that.
