I dont think its really necessary to wear gloves..
I feed my everyday with without gloves.
And i struggle to believe someone lost s finger, yes its bad but its more of stitches not a whole finger
I dont use a glove... I use a tweezers if I am feeding Dudley really tiny things or bugs though. He accidentally bit me once, and wow did it hurt! He usually tries to be really gentle if he sees me feeding him with my fingers, but he just got really excited over his blueberries, LOL!
I highly doubt that a beardie could take your finger off though. Stitches? Maybe. But actually biting off part of a finger? No way.
I don't use gloves. One lizard is so small, if it bit me I doubt I'd realize it till I saw it hanging there, and another one is 18" long and I've had him since he was a baby and he just doesn't bite. He used to make a mistake now and then, but not in a long time and he's extremely gentle.
I do have two large rescues that catch the edges of my fingers regularly. One, the old guy, hates me and everyone else, LOL. The other is not really acclimated to handling, although at 9-10 months is young enough to get over it and I normally handle both of them several times a day. Only if they hit a soft place, like at the root of the nail, does it break skin and then it's normally just scratches.
