success! today i went out and bought some crickets for whopper and its been 2 days since he's been offered them. so i place him on the floor of his viv and dropped a couple in and he chased them and ate them. in total he had about 20 (3/4 cickets) today and not once did i hand feed him, hes full and happy and not only is he eating his veggies and chasing his crickets, hes now trained to drink from a syringe.
Woopee! What great news! I'm so glad to hear about Whopper's cricket eating... is he a pretty big guy then Whopper (just asking as to the 3/4 inch crickets)? Our girl is just beyond 12 inches now, and we thinking of switching up to 3/4 inch ourselves. We actually tend to get a few with our 1/2 inch orders, and she seems fine with them and I believe they are just about the size between her eyes (as her head just seems to grow and grow)! LOL

hes eating like hes never eaten before, hes had 22 of the 3/4 which surprised me since they are larger than the 1/2 crickets i regularly feed him. hes only about 8.5 inches but my supplier only had 3/4 and 1inch crickets so i decided to give them a try, i pluck the hind legs off to reduce impaction risk as well. he hasn't had any trouble chewing them or getting them down.
That's great news! I have two beardies and they are new to the home. I witnessed this morning her actually eat her veggies, the male has been doing it since I got him. I wonder if she learned off of him?! My female hates crickets but so far has no problem eating in separate enclosure. The male can’t stand it and does everything in his power to get out. Last night he jumped so high he cleared the container and landed on the table. Should I get a deeper container? I want to stick with feeding live food out of the main Vivarium, its cleaner and more sanitized. The male doesn’t like it, but I'm sure he will get use to it...right?
