So I made a hammock and it is pretty cute if I do say so myself!
So Tengu has decided to chill under it instead of on top of it. Should I not let her do this? It seems she understands I cannot grab her there or is that paranoia? lol Otherwise its pretty clever as she can shade her head while body is basking and I guess she feels safe as she is undercover or will it just take time for her to use it properly? I out her on it when I return her to her tank and she jumps off instantly.
I'd leave it. The hammock may be providing some needed shade. I say provide as many climbs/hides/shady areas as possible and let them do their thing with the variety you provide.
I thought so but though I had better ask. FUNNY thing is just as I was about to check the answer you kindly gave, my scaly baby jumped onto her hammock and has stayed there enjoying the view! LOL It is like they know!! I did drop two food pellets on there to entice her but that took a day! LOL
So now she is just chillin on it looking for crickets as it is that time of day here. What a funny, funny girl she is!!
She likely knows what she's up to She sounds like a clever little one.
I agree with cooper, unless she is overusing hides (in which case the solution is to find out why, not just take them away) they are fine and probably help her feel safer. Pepper would pop in and out from under his basking rock like a groundhog or something.
