how do you ensure these are safe and clean to put in your Beardie's home?
are they ok to use right out the box - i cant see how you would be able to clean them?
(sorry if this is a really dumb question, i'm passing time in the office looking around for things to buy for my boy)
(also - i have hopefully sorted out my heating problem, i moved things around and have had the viv running all day so when i get home after work i'll know)
I used mine right out of the box, but I suppose you could take off the suction cups and bake it in the oven for a bit if you're worried. My problem wasn't how clean it was coming out of the box... it's how to keep the wretched thing clean when my beardie keeps pooping on it, and it really can't be washed, I don't think. I may ditch it in favor of a fabric one I can launder.
I have a triangular hammock made of that. I spot clean with paper towel and baby wipes. Then for serious cleaning, I soak in sink full of hot water and lots of vinegar. I use a scrub brush too. They seem to hold up. I then rinse well and let it dry in the sun. So far no issues. Have deep cleaned twice since Thanksgiving.

I didn't put it in the washer or anything but it seems fine and looks like it's made of the same stuff, dried grassy stuff held together by thin rope stuff. ? I let it soak about 15 min, then Used old toothbrush on any dark spots, let it drain then put in fresh water for few mins, drain, then outside on the porch to dry. Once dry no vinegar smell or any smell.
OP hope your buddy loves it as much as my Petey.
