Halogen vs incandescent?

I was reading tonight about halogen bulbs and deep heat projectors being able to penetrate more into the muscles and heat better than say an incandescent bulb just heating the skin and scales? Any thoughts or experiences?

Incandescent bulbs are perfectly acceptable. They actually have a lighting spectra more closely resembling the suns spectra than many other options.

I use halogens and incandescents somewhat interchangeably and find that they both work well. I suggest using what you have on hand/available as long as it's nice and bright, providing a wide beam, and producing sufficient surface temps for basking.

Thank you guys that’s what I thought you just hear a website or breeder make a blanket statement like “halogen flood lights are the only bulbs that penetrate deep into the muscles and not just heat the scales” and wonder about the validity of it?

Not sure if I need a new thread but was curious I am using two fixtures for basking to make a big basking area with heat + UVB and heat + low UVB. My question which may be stupid? Lol if I have two br30 65watt incandescents each with 625 lumens is that equivalent to 1250 lumens? Or just two spots each with 625 lumens? As I read this I’m not sure 🤔 if I’m over thinking it or just am too curious about the perception of the reptile lol.

The two bulbs would create the same amout of lumens as a 1250 lumen bulb, but it's not quite that simple when it comes to perception from light emitted from a single bulb vs two bulbs set next to eachother.

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
