I gut load my dragons Crickets and Roaches with these bearded dragon pellets that came with my terrarium. (I crush them into a powder and dampen it) The pellets say they are fortified with nutrients for a bearded dragons diet and they help promote color. Is this a good gut loader or should I use something else? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!
Well, it's OK I guess. The one thing I don't like about beardie pellets is that most of them are made from a lot of low-quality, crappy ingredients... Like, I decided to try some once, and the first ingredient was chicken by-product meal, or something nasty like that! Roaches like high protein too, so IDK if the beardie pellets would be sufficient for them in the long run.
What I do is take free sample bags of high-quality dog food (Taste of the Wild has 32% protein, and Blue Buffalo is good too!), turtle or fish food, oats, and Cheerios, and blend it all together. My roaches love it, and they have been doing really good on it so far!

When I had my colony, I would feed them dog food, fish flakes and oatmeal I put through a blender and made into a fine powder. I would also always have some fresh fruit in there.
