I was here before, maybe you remember me:
Hello, dear members. Back in 2018 I made a post about my first pet, a bearded dragon named Guggy. I was still closeted about who I was back then, to the public at least, so I used to go by my old name Ella. You should be able to find my post if you search "Guggy Ella". In case something here rings a bell and you think you might remember me
I was last active here on my old account in 2019. Since then, I have not been able to log into my old account. A lot of you have helped me take better care of both him and my second buddy, Merid.
The reason I'm back:
I came back to inform you that Guggy sadly passed away on October 17, 2021. He had gotten sick, stopped eating, and was almost unable to stay awake. I did all I could to possibly help him. I do feel very guilty for what has happened, but I am glad that he doesn't have to suffer anymore (from his MBD). Thank you all once again for your helpful advice. And for your patience with me. My grammar wasn't the best at the time, and some things I wrote were hard to understand.
Here is an old picture of him that I took when he was at his best. Thank you all once again. His last years were better because of you.
Answers to possible concerns:
Q: Why is his tail chopped off?
A: when I first got him, when I was around 12 years old, his tail had already been like this. My guess is that bigger bearded dragons bit it off. He was store bought. He was also missing three fingers on one of his hands. I picked him myself because he was the smallest and had most "defects."
Q: Why do his feet and mouth look like that ?
A: In my older post, that you can still find, I mentioned he developed MBD due to improper care. Which, in result, caused his bones to be the way they were.
Q: How is Merid doing?
A: So far, so good!
He had some issues with his stool, which I fixed by giving him better food.
I also noticed his femoral pores were clogged a year or so ago, which was also fixed. His enclosure now has more rough surfaces. Warm baths also helped.
He's been really sleepy in the past week or two. Could be the heat (since he sticks to the shade), old age, or something else. He doesn't seem unhealthy. He still eats well, isn't in any type of pain, and is active when he's awake.
Lastly, thank you all for your time and your help. And as always, sorry for the bad grammar
