my two dragons are about 4-5 months im guessing. the male is about 11.5 inches. however the female seems to have stopped growing at 8 inches? theyre the same age, and have a balanced meal plan (propper amts of calcium and protein). they have a power sun bulb that seems to be working fine, along with an additional heat bulb because the powe sun produces little heat. is there any way to induce growing? or am i just overreacting?
they are housed together. however the female eats more than the male, and hardly ever moves from under the basking spot. the spot is a branch with a fork at the highest point, so usually one is on one side, and the other is on the other.
that actually happened with my little lady and big guy as well.. he grew.. and she stopped.. im not exactly sure what to do about it, the reason that happened with mine is because the male was more dominant and was eating all the food and she didnt get any unless i would take her out and feed her... i would say just give her plenty of calcium and make sure shes basking as regularly as the other one.. it might just be a female thing honestly... im not too sure on that... our lady didnt make it.. because of very slim eating habits.. we had to force feed her for a while... but she ultimately didnt make it.. it really sucked.. i wish i would've known the dominance issue was going on before it was too late... good luck with her though, if she is eating and basking regularly she should be just fine and start growing.
Safer for both if they are separated. Have they seen a vet yet ? Perhaps something is going on that might need attention ?
I don't know what else to suggest.
