I have a breeding pair of beardies ,both 2 1/2years old. My female has laid 4+ Clutches this year so far and out of that only 2 of the eggs have embryos and are developing. Why aren’t all of the eggs she is laying fertile? Some of her clutches were all duds too.
How did you determine that they were all duds? Are you incubating them and seeing if they progress? Or are you candling them instantly and only keeping ones you can see veins in?
What temps are you running in your incubator?
Can you post a picture of your incubation setup and what substrate you use?
The eggs are kept at 29 degrees celcius on vermiculite in an incubator. The eggs were all mushy and dark yellow and were candled and also put in the incubator to see if they would progress but they started going bad. I have 2 eggs out of the 2nd clutch that are doing really well, their used to be five( out of a clutch of 21) but they are starting to turn yellow and cave in.
Not all mating is successful and once in a while a male can even be infertile. So that's a possibility. Are the eggs that seem good growing larger and have you candled them to be sure they are fertile ?
