Hey everyone, my lizard has had goopy eyes and they have been swollen for a while now. I thought they would go away, like a cold in humans, but I guess not He's also been super lazy, not moving around a whole lot and not interested in food. Please let me know if you have any advice
Yep I was assuming as much--- get rid of it- here is some info on UVB's
Which UVB light should I use?
The best UVB light is a ReptiSun 10.0 fluorescent tube HO (Or Arcardia 12% in the UK). Compact or coil bulbs do not emit the proper amount of UVB light for a bearded dragon, and should not be used. Other brands, such as the Zilla Desert Series and ReptiGlo have been known to cause eye problems and other health issues with bearded dragons, and should be avoided. The reason that some UVB lights (Zilla, ReptiGlo, coils/compacts, ect.) are considered dangerous is because the wavelength of UVB that they emit is shorter and more intense than the wavelength of the "safe" lights (ReptiSun, Arcadia). UVB lights should be replaced every 6 months. The T5’s are a strong bulb and only need to be replaced once a year – the T 8 every 6 months--- where as the T 8 are not as strong—they need to be placed inside the tank the T 5 10.0 bulb approx 12-15 inches from basking spot – the T 8 approx 8-10 inches from basking spot—the cover needs to be off the bulb for full effect of the UVB rays-- you need to replace this right away --- shut the UVB off take him outside for UVB till you get it replaced -- temps need to be 65+ degrees either let him sit on you for 15 minutes or longer or place him in a plastic tote NO Glass -- supervise him - in direct sunlight /partial shade for 15 minutes No longer you dont want to burn him up --- if you need help finding a fixture like websites to order from if you cannot get one in your petstore most only carry 18 or 20 inch fixture that would be for a T 8 I would recommend a 24" fixture w/ reflector if your tank is 40+ gallons --- 15 minutes of direct sunlight equals out to around 4 hrs of UVB --- see what happens after you get that UVB shut off and only the sun for UVB at this point -- hopefully they will start to clear up

Definitely gonna shut that off until I can get a good replacement. I'm looking into getting him a bigger enclosure too, so I'll make it in one trip  Thanks so much for the advice!
Let me know if you need anymore help the direct sunlight will also help w/the laziness and the appetite-- but the better UVB will definitely help

It looks like he has mbd (metabolic bone disease). How long have you had him? Do you give him calcium? If so what kind and how often? Can you show us a full body pic? I would definitely bring him outside if it's warm enough to do so, he needs the good uvb.
